 The equipment that was needed when making the radio show the archers was a microphone, headphones, a mixing console and a broadcasting software.  

Microphone- this is to capture sounds for the broadcast. a microphone is a device that converts sound waves into electrical signals. it's essentially acts as a transducer, capturing acoustic energy and transforming it into a format that can be recorded. they are important in various applications from live performances and broadcasting to recording studios and communication systems.

Headphones: allow the on-air talent to hear themselves and program audio. This makes sure for proper monitoring and mixing. headphones are a pair of small loudspeaker drivers worn on or around the head over a user's ears. they are electroacoustic transducers, which converts an electrical signal to a corresponding sound.

Mixer/mixing desk: this combines multiple audio sources such as microphones, music and sound effects into a single balanced output. A mixing desk is an electronic device from mixing audio signals, used in sound recording and reproduction and sound reinforcement systems.

A broadcasting software allows live streaming, audio processing and content management. this is a suite of tools and applications that enable the creation, editing and delivery of video and audio content over the internet often in real time.

 

 A digital cart wall is used for instant on demand playback of various audio files. Alot of radio stations use this to load all audio files that are needed for the radio. Relating to BBC radio 4, they collect the music that links with what they are presenters for the day. We can see how they edit their audio to match the length they want it to be. 

 

A playlist is a list of songs or other audio content that a radio station has selected to play during a specific time or broadcast. It's usually the schedule of what music will be played on the air and can be based on various factors like popularity, format and listening requests. 

 

A digital play-out system is the software and hardware infrastructure that manages and broadcasts audio content. This includes music, adverts, and announcements for listeners. It automates the process of scheduling, queuing, and playing audio content ensuring a consistent and timely broadcast.
